Eagle Vision is a hereditary sixth sense that can be activated while standing still and uninjured. This intuition shows people's true intentions at that moment, in the form of auras, and color-codes them. Thus, it can see auras through illusions and disguises (but not walls). If there is a specific target he's looking for, the ~murmuring background voices~ will come from that direction. When he moves or gets hurt, it deactivates, but there's still a residual glowing aura about people for a short bit. Video 1m 47s in. Wiki, riddled with spoilers.

Red = Hostile or potentially hostile to Altaïr. Everyone from active guards, police, and soldiers, to slavers, tyrants, those who'd use power to control or suppress freedom, even in the name of peace.
Blue = Altaïr's allies. Assassins, those who would fight for free will, willing to break the law for this belief.
White = informants, sources of information, hiding places (people sitting on benches can be hiding places too, though for some reason the game marks them blue)
Gold = Altaïr's temporary leads, persons of interest, assassination targets
Nothing = civilians, neutral-minded people.
To an uninformed character, this looks like an uncanny intuition. Though it uses broad generalizations in practice, they can be the deciding factor in whether or not Altaïr trusts someone when he meets or has to work with them. Comment below whether you want Altaïr to see your character's intent, regarding himself, at any given moment. Altaïr may also be able to see through your character's illusions, glamours, invisibility, etc. If your character can block scrying/chi sensing and the like, please mention it. It may or may not have an effect.
Also try to guess what color your character would be to him most of the time, if any. I realize this may be difficult, considering people's colors change even in canon according to what role they play in different situations. It's not general allegiance, it's specific circumstantial intent. For example, someone can switch from being an ally (blue) to an informant (white) and vice versa, or an ally (blue) could switch to being a lead (gold) when leading Altaïr somewhere. Even people in the role of guards have been known to switch from red to blue when defecting to join Altaïr. Frenemies are also a thing, as are "allies" who show as blue because they are working with Altaïr, but only as long as he's useful.

idk man. But Altair is free to see her if she isn't deliberately masking her chi.

Date: 2012-09-02 07:40 am (UTC)As long as she's not a guard belonging to the country he's infiltrating (e.g. The Country), she won't show as red. He's got no beef with her Imperial dude, because he hasn't met him.
She would only show white if she already had info to give him specifically. If she generally fights in favor of free will of the people, she may even show as blue.

It looks like a mix between empaths and seeing auras. He can turn it on and off at will. I doubt it's a sending-out-waves rader thing; more like a receptive-to-nearby-energy thing.
But since Accel can move real fast in that mode, it's almost moot. Hey look, blurs! Altair would be more likely to use it while scoping shit out rather than during fighting, since he has to stand still to activate it. He usually does it when he first meets people and doesn't trust them, or needs to collab with strangers in some way, and needs to know they won't stab him in the back.

Miranda -- who would be blue as well.
And Roxy, who is like Equius and would be doing the ~Voidy~ thing. I'll leave it up to you as to whether you'd rather have it be a civilian? or a LITERAL void.

color: uh he's a soldier for the Malkuth Empire but his Emperor is way rad (no seriously he's the sufer hipster cosplay emperor) and also he first appears in the game fighting for peace and he ends it fighting for peace and free will so. He's just deeply Lawful personally because he has no moral code otherwise, so he knows he needs Lawful as a guide. Soooo. Blue?
notes: One day he might turn white with info but good luck getting him to spill it HE COULD HAVE SAVED US A LOT OF TROUBLE IF HE ACTUALLY GAVE INFORMATION OUT.

Date: 2013-10-02 03:01 am (UTC)Altaïr gets on the wrong side of the law at times, e.g. stabbing people and stealing shit for world peace, HOPEFULLY JADE WON'T CATCH HIM AT IT but if he does... uh... things may change? But usually i play that by ear anyway because CR is a wily thing. Thanks for hitting this up!

notes: Charlie's a detective, so inevitably she's going to get her hands on information! She's more than happy to give it in a concise manner, unless it's something top secret (like a case or what have you). She's vehement in defending people and has actually gone to battle to ... how did she put it ... put "dark deeds" into the "harsh light of justice" --? Yes. Without much prompting other than her own curiosity.
Her being a detective also falls within in the lines of if you do something illegal and she knows about it, you're going on her shitlist. Paris is no more, but she'll be joining up with what ... little police force Exsilium might have around now. If it's in the name of the greater good, like turning the tides, she'll be more lenient, but still: a crime is a crime.
Also she looks like a young boy I think this is very important to note.

color: He's so normal it's sad, man, but I'm guessing most of the Transports would be some color or other so I think...... blue/white?? With an emphasis on white atm I'm not sure if you can have mixtures of colors or maybe he just switches around depending on situation. (Cracking up at people on benches yo.)

Date: 2013-10-05 02:11 pm (UTC)If they actively stick their neck out for freedom etc., they could possibly show up as blue.
And white is when they've got some information for him, or are even just his eavesdropping target lmfaooo (and yes, benches. It's canon.)

color: Raphael is a bright young man, sure, but he's mainly a civilian so will be none. But as Phantom R - and I promise he'll come later on, provided I'm here long enough - he's more like an informant since that's his real Business Mode. Unless otherwise noted. Or see below--
notes: Phantom R is his paper thin disguise to us but in canon no one know who the hell he is because Raphael's very unassuming and a quiet presence like Assassin's Creed assassins actually. Phantom R's actually a thief who does it for Really Good Reasons, but since he doesn't have that in Exsilium he'll mainly be around for stealing intel purposes which is why he's more of an informant. Or a person of interest. Whichever suits your needs more.

Date: 2014-02-22 04:42 pm (UTC)eagle vision: Special Circumstances, we'll probably want to PM or talk on AIM about it.
color: Blue/White/Yellow
notes: David, being the sort of super-powered enigma he is, might show up as blue, white, or yellow depending on how he's feeling at the time, and he won't show up at all if he's particularly confused or is otherwise feeling less than stable.
Though David has noble intentions, he often gets caught up in his own head about how, and if, he should act on those intentions, and how far he should go. A good quote from his canon goes "I have all the power in the world and a just cause. What does one wee child stand against that?"
no subject
Date: 2014-02-23 10:59 am (UTC)Caveat: If David happens to be sporting some sort of telepathic block or shield at the time, Altair may not be able to see him as ANY color, and assume he's a harmless civilian. 8O

color: Probably nothing or maybe blue or white depending on circumstances (they're all three good people)
notes: Simon and Jennifer are both doctors, hence if Altair ever needs medical help, I assume that would show up as blue or white (I'm not canon-familiar enough to know for sure, alas). All three are good people and would fight for the side of good, but they're also civilians and not warriors of any sort.

color: That would depend on situation. But most of the time he would be grey and rarely blue.
notes: Aaron can tell right from wrong but he hasn't got a strict moral code he follows. He has been doing bad stuff in the past. He often acts upon "an eye for an eye" principle. If someone does anything bad to him or someone he cares about, he'll want to get even. But he doesn't suppress or bully. He can intimidate and/or fight people he has beef with. So unless Altair is directly affected by Aaron, Aaron would probably show up as grey. Aaron hasn't been show to fight for what's right and his life is mostly that of an ordinary human (but with a lot of drama seeing as he's a soap character). However if Aaron by some circumstance would be on the same side as Altair instead of in the middle he would probably show up as blue. Also if Aaron know something Altair needs to know he would be white.

color: Amanda is usually going to show up blue; she's fairly justice-oriented and has a low opinion of the rule of law. Roadrash will often be colorless (and thus not show up at all, because he's invisible and incorporeal), but when he's in a particularly cooperative frame of mind or his presence is relevant to what's going on he might occasionally show up as an indistinct white form.
notes: On the rare occasion that Roadrash does register, he'll frequently physically overlap with Amanda. not having a physical form is hard.

character name(s) & journals(s): Sara Smith,

color: Probably neutral or blue most of the time, but it really depends on the thread!
notes: Casper has an ability that basically negates surprise attacks entirely so if the two of them ever get into a fight we're going to have to hash stuff out. xD
character name & journal: Naoya
eagle vision: Always is probably fine, if only because...
color: ... unless Naoya is infiltrating, he's likely almost always going to be super blue. He may not always be Altaïr's ally, but he does have free will as a major thing he supports.
Just not the only or main reason for wanting to do what he wants to do.Not sure how much you know about the Shin Megami Tensei games, but he's the Chaos Route representative in his game, and that tends to lean on the side of free will. ... It's just usually also accompanied by the whole "fight for your place in society" thing, but eh.notes: I'm so sorry about him. In general.
